For attorneys, mediators, minor’s counsel & family court professionals

Clear roles. Steady structure. Kids out of the middle.

I work with co-parents involved in family court matters throughout California. Because every session is by secure telehealth, parents in different homes, cities or counties can participate without the logistics becoming another point of conflict.

Court-involved co-parenting therapy

Structured, skills-based work that helps co-parents communicate, problem-solve and reduce conflict, with the scope defined at the outset.

Parenting coordination

Helping high-conflict co-parents resolve day-to-day disputes and implement their parenting plan. My authority is defined by the stipulation or court order.

New Ways for Families training

Trained in the New Ways for Families method, which teaches flexible thinking, managed emotions and moderate behaviors.

How I work

Role clarity from day oneTherapy and parenting coordination are different roles. I confirm in writing which service I'm providing, and what it does and doesn't include, before we begin.
No custody evaluationsIn a treating role, I don't conduct custody evaluations or make custody recommendations.
Communication within the limitsI communicate with attorneys and the court only as permitted by the order and signed releases.
Evenhanded with both parentsBoth parents get the same information, the same expectations and the same respect.
Records and testimonyRequests for records or testimony are handled in keeping with California law and professional ethics.

To start a referral

  • A copy of the current order or stipulation that names the service
  • Signed releases of information from each parent
  • Contact information for counsel and minor’s counsel, if appointed
  • Clarity on how fees will be shared between the parents
  • Each parent then contacts me directly to complete their own intake

Court-involved services and parenting coordination are typically private pay. Fees vary by service, so please reach out to discuss.
